APAC NetRiders draws contestants from 15 Countries

In 2008, the APAC NetRiders event featured 45 participants representing 15 countries in the Asia Pacific region, challenging each other for the top prize of an all-expenses-paid trip to the United States as well as bragging rights for the next 12 months.

Competing for the first time was Cambodia, where the inaugural Cambodia NetRiders 2008 competition was recently concluded. The competition featured 140 students from the Institut de Technologie du Cambodge, the National Institute of Development Authority, YEJJ Training, Enfant du Mekong, and Pannasastra University of Cambodia.

Team China Clinch Top Prize in 2008 regional Cisco APAC NetRiders Challenge
Cisco® Networking Academy® is pleased to announce Team China from Shenzhen Polytechnic as the winners of the 2008 regional APAC NetRiders Challenge.

Second place winners are Team Malaysia from MMU Cyberjaya and third place Team Singapore Polytechnic.

The standard of competition was very high and all teams put in a tremendous effort both preparing for the competition, as well as on the day. Cisco would like to congratulate all the teams on an outstanding inaugural APAC NetRiders Challenge.

Flag_NewZealand NZ NetRiders  Competition 
The NZ Skills competition was held at Manukau Institute of Technology on Saturday 27 September 2008. Seven teams took part representing Manukau Institute of Technology, Avondale College (2 teams), St Kentigern College, University of Auckland (2 teams) and NZ Air Force. The competition consisted of a short test followed by a practical exercise. At the completion the top four teams were within 7 points.
For the third year in a row, the winning team was from Avondale College. Second was University of Auckland and third was the Avondale College second team.
