The series of technical talks, career talks and industry site visits, cover a range of topics to engage students in continuing their education and building their career path. The events are designed for students and alumni to explore the skills and education needed to succeed in information technology and also encourages the development of relationships between students and professionals. Throughout the
year, students from the Cisco Networking Academies were invited to attend Cisco Hong Kong to
learn more about the business and get to test first hand Cisco products and services.
Students were able to:
• Understand Cisco business strategies, technological trends and the Cisco Green Initiatives
• Students also get to experience the usage and the power of Unified Communications and
Telepresence.

This year the city
of Chengdu in Sichuan province hosted the China NetRiders 2009 Challenge. Over 40
competitors visited the Chengdu Cisco offices to learn more about Cisco's China business, products
and services.
In August
2009, the University of St Thomas (UST), held the first General Assembly of UST's newly-formed
student organization, the Cisco Networking Academy Gateway (UST- CNAG). Attended by over
100 students, the event was supported by Mr Dexter Tan Systems Engineering Manager for Cisco
Philippines, who spoke on the value of Cisco certifications and Telepresence, and Ms Charlotte
Rogacion Area Academy Manager for the Philippines who took students through the Student Advocacy
& Alumni program.
